The year is coming to a close. The colonies are being fed to supplement the stores they built up through the year. We are looking forward to a bountiful year in 2012.

The 2011 year was our worst. It began with unusually cold weather that was devastating to both the bee colonies and many of the plants upon which they forage. Drought conditions throughout the forage season severely reduced nectar flows. We were concerned less about a harvest than we were about keeping the colonies in good condition. So it is with agricultural pursuits!
